Have Your Say: Voting Now Open for the RACGP 2025 AGM
11 Nov 2025
This year’s AGM will cover important matters relating to governance, director and president remuneration, and proposed updates to the college’s constitution.
Key Resolutions
The Board has proposed eight Special Resolutions and two Ordinary Resolutions for member consideration.
Under the Ordinary Resolutions, members will vote on:
-
A 3% increase in directors’ remuneration for the 2027 financial year, adding $66,488 to the total pool for 15 directors’ annual fees.
-
A 3% increase in the President’s remuneration.
Both motions require at least 50% member support to pass.
The Special Resolutions, which need 75% approval, propose several constitutional changes, including:
-
Extending director terms from two to three years, with a maximum of six years in total.
-
Removing the Censor-in-Chief position from the Board.
-
Ensuring directors are not RACGP employees.
-
Requiring a minimum level of governance experience for directors.
-
Allowing the Chair to call Board meetings.
Member Consultation and Feedback
From August to October 2025, the Future Governance Committee conducted 18 consultation sessions with members. Feedback from these discussions led to adjustments in the proposed resolutions, such as reducing the maximum term cap for directors from nine to six years and introducing governance training support for less-experienced directors.
RACGP Board Chair Dr Siân Goodson encouraged all members to participate:
“Member feedback is essential in shaping the future direction of the RACGP. I encourage all members to vote and make their voices heard.”
