Bullying still an unwelcome part of the profession
16 Feb 2023
A message from Drs4Drs.
Bullying remains an unwelcome part of the workplace and unfortunately this does not exclude the medical profession, including our doctors in training.
The 2022 Medical Training Survey conducted by the Medical Board of Australia and Ahpra has again focused attention on issues in medical training. While a lot is going well in medical training, the survey found that 55 per cent of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees and 34 per cent of all trainees experienced and/or witnessed bullying, harassment, discrimination and racism.
We want to remind you Drs4Drs is here to listen to you about any difficulties you are facing as a doctor in training, medical student or doctor.
We offer two complementary, confidential, free and 24/7 health advisory services. Reach out to a GP or other specialists trained in doctor’s health through our state and territory based services.
