Availability of salbutamol nebules - Important update for health professionals

The National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) has issued an important update for health professionals regarding the availability of salbutamol nebules.
This anticipated shortage does not apply to salbutamol inhalation solution 5mg/2.5mL (Ventolin nebules). The Salbutamol Cipla 2.5mg/2.5mL brand is currently unavailable.
The detailed overview prepared by Debbie Rigby, Clinical Executive Lead, NAC, reports that a shortage of salbutamol inhalation solution 2.5mg/2.5mL (Ventolin nebules) is anticipated from 15 November 2023 to 1 August 2024.
