Voluntary Patient Enrolment has been supported by the AMA as a means to help support the delivery of better, longitudinal care for patients while strengthening the central role of general practice in the Australian health system.

MyMedicare is the government’s voluntary patient enrolment model, implementing proposed reforms that seek to better link patients with their usual GP and providing a mechanism for additional funding to flow to GPs and practices over and above MBS arrangements.
