AMA Tasmania in talks with Federal AMA
07 Mar 2024
Federal AMA has been working with AMA Tasmania on whether it is possible for Tasmania to become a branch of the AMA, rather than a separate legal entity. The change would reduce the administrative and financial burden on Tasmania, ensuring its viability into the future.
AMA Tasmania has been providing its members with information about the possible change in recent months, while Federal AMA has been working on possible changes to the constitution that would allow Tasmania to become a branch.
If the move is supported by AMA Tasmania members, Tasmania AMA will continue to represent its members in the same way it does now, with a Tasmanian AMA President, Vice President and State Council. AMA Tasmania will remain physically present in Tasmania and the scope of its services would not reduce.
We will be providing updates on this in coming issues of Rounds.
