$57 million for research to transform health care using the power of AI and to fight genetic disease

Ten AI-driven research projects will transform health care in Australia and ensure Australia remains at the forefront of advances in health and medical technology. Benefits will include:
- better care for multiple sclerosis
- better prevention of cardiac health problems
- expanded access to skin cancer assessments.
Funding is from the Medical Research Future Fund's (MRFF) National Critical Research Infrastructure initiative.

Eight genomic research projects will share $27 million to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancers and to improve health outcomes. This includes $8 million for a new consortium that will develop and test the safe and ethical use of AI-driven analytical tools.
Funding is from the Genomics Health Futures Mission.
