$55 million for stem cell therapies, data infrastructure and research into rheumatoid arthritis

Six projects will share $34.5 million for research into stem cell therapies and treatments for osteoarthritis and other conditions. Funding is from the MRFF’s Stem Cell Therapies Mission. For more information, read the media release.

Four projects will receive a share of $9.2 million to find new treatments and cures using the power of data. Children, women with cervical cancer and women facing fertility issues are some of the people who will benefit from this research. Funding is from the MRFF’s Research Data Infrastructure initiative. The University of Queensland will receive $11.54 million for a treatment that could put rheumatoid arthritis into remission and eliminate the need for lifelong immunotherapy. Learn more about this research.
