31 Aug 2025
The Australian Government is investing $50 million in genomic research that will lead to personalised treatments for a wide range of health issues. Funding is from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
The MRFF’s Genomics Health Futures Mission supports genomic research to improve how we test and diagnose diseases, and personalise treatments to improve health outcomes.
Thirty projects will share funding under the 2024 Genomics Health Futures grant opportunity for research that will benefit a wide range of people including:
- children with type 1 diabetes
- people at higher risk of common cancers
- First Nations people who experience side-effects from their medication.
Read the media release for information about this grant funding and the new national body, Genomics Australia.
