2023-24 financial results for cost recovery activities for listing medicines on the PBS and designated vaccines on the NIP
04 Dec 2024
The PBS and NIP Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) has been updated to include 2023-24 end-of-year financial results and is now available on the Cost Recovery Fees and Charges webpage.
In 2023-24 there was under-recovery of expenses for listing and management of products on the PBS and NIP. The under-recovery is due a combination of factors including: lower than expected volumes overall in 2023-24, fee waivers and exemptions, and post-listing services not charged.
The Australian Government Charging Framework requires the CRIS to be updated with end-of-year financial outcomes. This provides transparent information to industry on cost recovery for the demand-driven PBS program.
