To stay safe:

  • Appointments are always scheduled in advance and legitimate assessors will provide proof of identification.

  • Do not allow entry to anyone you feel unsure about, and never share personal or financial information.

  • Verify all aged care activity by contacting My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 (8:00 am – 8:00 pm Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Saturday).

  • Report suspicious activity to Scamwatch via www.scamwatch.gov.au.

Staying alert and confirming identities can help protect older Australians from fraud.
