Urgent Care Now Uploads Event Summaries to My Health Record
24 Feb 2026
This can be given directly to the patient or sent digitally to their nominated GP.
In addition, an event summary is uploaded to My Health Record. Together, these documents give GPs timely and reliable information about the visit.
Why this matters for your practice
-
More complete information: Reviewing both the discharge summary and the event summary provides clearer context about the patient’s visit.
-
Better continuity of care: You can see what treatment was provided and what follow-up is recommended.
-
Always accessible: If a patient loses their printed discharge summary or you are waiting for a digital copy, the event summary is available immediately in My Health Record.
-
Time saving: Reduces the need to chase paperwork or rely only on patient recall.
-
Supports clinical decisions: Key clinical details are available directly within your practice software.
To access this information, open the patient’s My Health Record in your clinical system and review the event summary and discharge summary sections.
You can also access My Health Record through the National Provider Portal using your PRODA account and follow the relevant guide to view an event summary.
