Tasmanians Invited to Share Views on Suicide Prevention Plan
26 Feb 2026
Each loss has had a deep impact on families, friends and workplaces across the state.
Suicide prevention is something everyone can be part of. Reaching out, listening, staying connected and showing care can help someone who may be struggling. Even a simple check-in can make a difference.
Compassion and Connection: The Tasmanian Suicide Prevention Strategy 2023–2027 is the state’s plan to reduce suicide and support wellbeing. Released in 2022, it was shaped by Tasmanians, including people with lived experience.
The Strategy is delivered through three action plans. These plans outline steps to lower suicide rates and improve wellbeing, especially for people who need extra support.
The third plan, covering 2026 to July 2027, is now being developed. It builds on what worked in the first two plans and includes new actions to reach more people across the state.
Community feedback on the Draft Implementation Plan Three is now open and closes at 5 pm on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
