The Tasmanian Public Sector Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards is an annual event to acknowledge the skill, dedication and commitment of our nursing and midwifery workforce across Tasmania.

WINNERS:

• Rising Star Award: Tina Evans – Registered Nurse, George Town Hospital and Community Centre
• Innovation Award: Stacey Higgins – Nurse Unit Manager, Launceston Community Nursing Service
• Team of the Year: NW RADAR (Recognise Acute Deterioration and Response) Team
• Nurse of the Year: Tammy Harvey – Nurse Practitioner, Hospitals South, Sub-Acute and Community Care
• Midwife of the Year: Becky French – Nursing and Midwifery Director, Hospitals South – Women’s and Children’s Services
   

The Department of Health also congratulates all the award finalists.

Nurses and midwives are the backbone of our health system and are vital to the provision of safe, high-quality health care to the Tasmanian community.

Friday night’s awards ceremony was the culmination of a significant day on the calendar for Tasmanian nurses and midwives, following the 2023 Tasmanian Nursing and Midwifery Symposium, which brought nurses and midwives together to celebrate innovation and research in nursing and midwifery.
