There have been 532 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 3,935 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 70s, a woman in her 90s, two men in their 70s, and two men in their 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19 have passed away.
There are 93 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, with two people ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 70 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 20 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and three have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 3.1% of samples analysed were BA.2, 3.1% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 91.8% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 3,465 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 27% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 284 PCR tests were positive, while 248 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Testing changes
From 4.30pm Sunday 4 September the COVID-19 testing clinics located at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre will close.
A new testing clinic will be opening at Frome Road (co-located with the SA Pathology Traveller Clinic) from Monday 5 September, operating 12.30pm – 4.30pm, 7 days.
The Walkley Heights COVID-19 drive-through testing clinic remains open 7.00am to 10.30pm, 7 days. You can also book an appointment for a COVID-19 test with your GP or at a GP Respiratory Clinic.
