Public consultation opens on the proposed Mental Health, Alcohol, and Other Drugs Strategy 2025–2030

29 Aug 2025

The Mental Health Commission is developing a new Western Australian Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy 2025–2030. This strategy will guide changes across the state’s mental health and alcohol and other drugs systems, aiming to empower and support people, families, and communities in their wellbeing.

The strategy sets out Aspirations, Strategic Pillars, and Focus Areas for transforming services, building on previous progress and current reforms.

The Commission is now inviting final feedback on the proposed strategic directions. These draft directions reflect input from consultations with people with lived experience, their families and carers, service providers, peak bodies, government and non-government agencies, and communities. They are based on strong evidence and government priorities.

You can provide your feedback on the strategy’s high-level directions by 26 September 2025 via email: MHAODStrategyFeedback@mhc.wa.gov.au.
