PBS Approved Suppliers: End-of-Year Closure Period for 2025
19 Nov 2025
The department will be closed from 3 pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 until Thursday 1 January 2026, inclusive.
During this period, the PBS Approved Suppliers Portal will remain accessible, allowing applicants to lodge submissions. However, no assessments or approvals will be processed while the department is closed.
Applicants who already have an administration number and are seeking approval before the closure period must submit all outstanding information and request approval by 4 pm AEDT on 23 December 2025.
Normal assessment activity will resume on Monday 5 January 2026.
Applications Requiring Authority Consideration
Submissions requiring review by the Australian Community Pharmacy Authority (ACPA) must follow the standard ACPA submission schedule.
-
The final ACPA meeting for 2025 will be held on 12 December 2025.
-
The application cut-off for this meeting was extended to 19 November 2025.
No ACPA meeting is scheduled for January 2026, due to the departmental shutdown and the availability of ACPA members.
Ownership Changes and Updates to Business Details
Pharmacies planning to change ownership or update business details before the end of January 2026 should lodge applications as early as possible. Processing times may be longer than usual in January due to reduced staff availability and the end-of-year closure.
