Learning, sharing, connecting: SWSPHN staff engage at commissioning showcase

07 Oct 2025

The conference provided an opportunity to collaborate, learn, and explore how ‘connection’ underpins all PHN work. SWSPHN representatives from Commissioning, Mental Health, Service Support, Digital Health and Data, and Integration and Priority Populations teams shared their experiences and insights across four presentations.

Key themes over the two-day event included:

  • Connecting communities – collaborating with consumers and co-producing services to improve health outcomes and equity.

  • Connecting values and outcomes – commissioning for impact and learning from leading domestic and international practices.

  • Connecting services – working with partners to jointly commission and integrate care.

  • Connecting processes, technology and systems – innovating in procurement, reporting, and financial management to drive integrated care.

SWSPHN presentations highlighted initiatives such as enhancing service outcomes, value-based healthcare through the My Care Partners program, collaborative commissioning to improve hepatitis C screening and treatment, and reviewing commissioned contracts to strengthen processes and systems.

Additionally, a staff member participated in a panel with sector leaders to discuss digital health, reporting, and systems, while a poster showcased the impact and lessons from SWSPHN’s Local Health Forums.

The showcase reinforced the importance of connection in PHN work and provided practical insights for improving commissioning and healthcare delivery.
