Help prevent falls in older adults – funding now open

Falls are a major cause of hospitalisation in South Western Sydney, with more than 6,300 people aged 65+ admitted each year. Campbelltown, Wollondilly and Camden record the highest rates per 100,000 residents.
Providers can apply to deliver the program across the entire SWSPHN region or focus on specific areas or priority populations. The region includes Bankstown, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee.
Program highlights:

For adults 65+ (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults 45+)

Builds confidence and encourages safer behaviour

Includes balance and strength exercises, home safety, medication management, and community awareness

Runs for seven weekly sessions plus a booster session
New facilitators must complete official Stepping On training.
