She currently consults at Optimal Health Medical Centre, Gledswood Hills and Oran Park Medical Centre, where she is known for her compassionate, community-focused approach.

Why she became a GP

Dr Khan’s decision to specialise in general practice was sparked during her early clinical training. She was inspired by the privilege of being the first point of contact for patients, the diversity of cases she encountered, and the opportunity to support people through every stage of life.

“General practice offers the perfect blend of medical expertise, human connection, and community impact,” she says.

What she loves most

For Dr Khan, the greatest reward lies in building long-term relationships with patients and providing continuity of care.

“I find deep fulfilment in identifying health issues early, delivering holistic care, and seeing how small interventions can make a big difference to someone’s quality of life,” she says.

Her contribution to the community

Dr Khan’s practices provide accessible, continuous, and compassionate care. She values being a consistent point of contact for patients, supporting not just individuals but the health of the wider community.

Life outside of medicine

Away from her busy schedule, Dr Khan enjoys shopping, music, time with family and friends, and moments of quiet with a good book or podcast. These hobbies, she says, help her recharge and maintain balance.

Why she loves South Western Sydney

Dr Khan admires the region’s rich cultural diversity, resilience, and strong family connections. “It’s a privilege to serve such a vibrant and dynamic population,” she says.

What motivates her work

The opportunity to make a meaningful impact is what keeps Dr Khan inspired. “The diverse and complex health needs of this community challenge me to grow as a practitioner and allow me to make lasting contributions,” she explains.

Her advice to patients

Dr Khan encourages her patients to see health as more than the absence of illness.

“Good health is about a sustainable lifestyle – regular activity, a balanced diet, quality sleep, strong social connections, and prioritising mental wellbeing,” she says.
“Small, consistent habits bring the greatest long-term benefits.”
