Common Ground CPD series brings primary care professionals together in South Western Sydney

Delivered by the SWSPHN Allied Health Engagement team, the ongoing series brings together local GPs, nurses and allied health professionals to work through real-world case studies, practical workflows and shared approaches to managing complex and chronic care. The focus is on open discussion, collaboration and person-centred care that reflects local health priorities.
The program aims to break down professional silos by creating a neutral space where different disciplines can learn from one another, build trust and gain a clearer understanding of each other’s roles. Organisers say this approach supports better coordination, stronger referral pathways and more connected care for patients.
Attendees gain practical strategies to improve communication, insights into managing multimorbidity, and opportunities to strengthen local professional networks. Eligible sessions also provide CPD certificates, with tailored benefits for GPs, nurses and allied health professionals.
The next event, “A multidisciplinary approach to falls management,” will be held face to face on Wednesday, 25 February, from 6.30pm to 9pm at Park Proxi Gibraltar Bowral. GPs can earn up to two CPD hours, while nurses and allied health professionals will receive a certificate for two CPD hours.
Guest speakers include Moss Vale GP Dr Fiona Mackintosh, accredited mental health social worker Emma Taylor, and accredited exercise physiologist Jack Menzie, who will share local perspectives and practical tools to support coordinated care.
