Authorities Seize Thousands of Illegal Vapes in Sydney
10 Feb 2026
The action took place on 3 February 2026 and was led by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), with help from NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police. Warrants were carried out at a storage facility and two related vehicles believed to be linked to a large illegal vape supply operation.
Officials say investigations are still ongoing and more enforcement action could follow. The TGA warned that selling vapes without approval is illegal and carries serious penalties.
Only approved pharmacies are allowed to sell vapes in Australia. Other retailers, including tobacconists and convenience stores, are breaking the law if they sell them.
Since vaping reforms were introduced, authorities have worked together on 48 joint operations to stop illegal vape sales.
