Another boost to Ambulance Tasmania: 16 graduate paramedics begin their careers in Tasmania
22 May 2025
Ambulance Tasmania has welcomed another 16 new paramedics who will begin providing life-saving care to the community when they hit the road in the middle of June.
The graduates are mid-way through their six-week induction program, which provides hands-on training and mentorship to ensure they are well-prepared and supported to deliver emergency care in the community.
After completing the program next month, they will be deployed to regions across our State, with eight graduates to be based in the South, five in the North and three in the North West.

Georgia started her career as a Patient Transport Officer while studying to be a paramedic. She said moving to Tasmania’s north really appealed to her, coming from a small country town in Victoria.
“The idea of going to Launceston and in the north really brings me back that feeling of community, that culture I’ve had through my whole childhood so I’m really excited to be part of that.
Thomas is from South Australia and studied his paramedic degree in Queensland – he says he is excited to be starting his career in Tasmania, based in the South.
“I’m quite excited to join the Ambulance Tasmania team, it’s definitely been, a three-year degree, a long-time in the running but it’s really exciting to consolidate all that education and eventually get out on road here in such a great community.”
