Annual education reminder for Antenatal Shared Care providers

Annual education reminder for Antenatal Shared Care providers

14 Jan 2026

Education hours can be met through a mix of approved activities, including CPD events and relevant committee involvement. When providers attend SWSPHN-run CPD events, education hours are automatically recorded with both the RACGP and SWSPHN ANSC records. For education completed outside SWSPHN, providers are encouraged to email evidence of completion to ansc@swsphn.com.au.

Eligible activities must be clearly related to pregnancy and antenatal care. Where no certificate is issued, providers should submit supporting evidence such as meeting minutes or learning reflections, noting the number of ANSC education hours claimed.

Upcoming SWSPHN ANSC education activities are promoted through Baby Monitor, the ANSC provider newsletter, and the weekly CPD email sent to South Western Sydney GPs each Friday. Providers can also view upcoming events via the CPD calendar on the SWSPHN website.

To ensure education remains relevant, providers are advised to select topics from the approved ANSC list, which includes areas such as pregnancy screening, gestational diabetes, mental health, labour and birth, newborn care, breastfeeding, perinatal loss, and medication safety in pregnancy.

The Antenatal Shared Care program is jointly supported by South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and South Western Sydney Primary Health Network (SWSPHN).
