AMA Doctors Join Mardi Gras Parade in Rainbow Scrubs
26 Feb 2026
They’ll be marching under the 2026 festival theme, Ecstatica, showing support for LGBTQIASB+ communities.
After their first appearance last year, the AMA has secured another spot in the parade. Their 2026 float, Ecstatica Practitiona — Proud to Care, celebrates the joy of community and the important role doctors play in looking after the health and wellbeing of everyone.
AMA participants will wear rainbow-coloured medical scrubs, donated by Scrubs With Love, as a sign of pride in their profession and support for the communities they serve.
Joining Mardi Gras is part of the AMA’s wider work to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare. The AMA continues to push for better training, education, and systems to reduce discrimination and improve health outcomes for LGBTQIASB+ people.
You can see the AMA float in the parade or on ABC TV at 7.30 pm on Saturday, 28 February.
