19 Feb 2026

The funding is part of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) under its 2026 National Critical Research Infrastructure grant opportunity.

What the Funding Will Support

The grants will back projects that address unmet medical needs by:

  • Building or improving research infrastructure such as biobanks, tissue banks, new research platforms and secure health data systems

  • Applying artificial intelligence in healthcare to improve diagnosis and treatment

  • Creating co-investment partnerships to strengthen research skills, systems and capacity

  • Expanding and improving mRNA technologies to speed up the development of vaccines and treatments

The funding comes through the MRFF’s National Critical Research Infrastructure initiative.

Researchers and organisations can find more details about this and other grant opportunities through GrantConnect and the MRFF calendar.
